Sewer Line Plumbing
The DWV - drain, waste, vent - system inside every building consists of the large diameter pipes running parallel to the water supply lines. Wastewater is carried out of the house to the main sewer line, which then sweeps it further away to a sewage facility or septic tank.
Gravity is the drawing force that sends waste toward the sewer line, thus, drain and waste pipes should all slope downwards.
Gravity guides the sewer line's contents along the way to the septic tank; any clogs or leaks in the sewer line will result in terrible smells at those points. PVC lining installed within the sewer line will lessen the chances of leaks occurring.
Root intrusion may result in blocked sewer lines. To correct the problem, a garden hose may be used to flush out the blockage. If this doesn't work, you will need a professional Los Angeles plumber to clear the obstruction with a power auger. While you can try strong chemicals, like copper sulfate, to inhibit root growth, you should speak with your plumber before adding any substance to your sewer line.
